Makeup Ghana Hosts the Glow and Mingle Soiree with a Twist


The Glow and Mingle Soiree, an initiative by Makeup Ghana, is a makeup networking event geared towards empowerment and informal interactions between makeup artists, enthusiasts and retailers in Ghana. Since its inception, the gathering has successfully built a space for the discussion of industry topics with pioneers within the makeup and beauty industry.

This third edition dubbed the "Winners Edition" was hosted by Makeup Artist of the Year and Best Editorial Makeup Artist, Sandra Don-Arthur at the Alisa Hotel, Accra on the 28th of October. The social event was heavily attended by over 50 beauty enthusiasts and winners of the 2018 Makeup Ghana Awards including Aretha Yorke Sabeng, Ghana Brand Manager for Maybelline New York, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, Minister of Business Development, Nikki Boamponsem, Founder of 2nd Image Hair and Beauty and Evita Joseph Asare, Founder of Evita Joseph Makeup Brand.

"We were so excited about this edition of the Glow and Mingle Soiree because it served as an opportune moment to launch the Ghana Makeup and Beauty Week 2019 which will take place from the 26th of October -4th of May. We were also honoured to host the Minister of Business Development, Dr. Mohammed Awal who helped us launch the event and has pledged support in forms of funds and legislation for the makeup industry in Ghana. All this support for the makeup industry in Ghana stands in line with our commitment to making the industry, inclusive, accessible and positively aspirational", shares CEO of Makeup Ghana, Rebecca Donkor.

Highlights from the event include some winners of the 2018 Makeup Ghana Awards sharing their success stories with the title "My Win, My Story" and a panel discussion on the topic "Supporting Your Own" moderated by Nhyiraba Adwoa Amofa Osei.
