Makeup Tips With Alexandrina

Alexandrina stuns! Yes even with a half face of makeup. Last week, the 2018 overall best makeup artist shared makeup tips with her loyal followers (including me) on the social media platform, Instagram, with a live recording.

On laugh lines and eye bags!

Laugh lines are creases or wrinkles that appear around the outer corners of the mouth and eyes. These lines are most visible when a person smiles or laughs which is where the name comes from and can leave a crack in your makeup. Eye bags are mild swellings or puffiness under your eyes.

Alexandrina recommends using a primer to fill in those areas that tend to crease. ie, corners of your mouth before applying your foundation then setting it with a powder. She also recommends using a creamy concealer with good coverage to brighten the entire area under and around your eyes to hide your bags.

The key to gorgeous eyes? Tightline

Want to have eyes as gorgeous as Alexandrina? The trick is to tightline. Tightline is a technique in which you line your upper waterline to define and thicken the appearance of your eyelashes. Just like lining your lower waterline, you do the same to your upper waterline.

Alexandrina says doing this gives us an illusion of fuller, darker lashes and add definition to the eyes,

Powder Buffing Technique

I know I am not not the only one that just runs a brush all over her face when doing her makeup. Makeup artists always say that how you handle the brush when doing your makeup makes all the difference.

Alexandrina suggests pressing your powder in with your brush also known as the Powder Buffing Technique to achieve an all-over seamless finish and airbrush look,

Go in with a light hand!

Alexandrina advises using a light hand when doing your makeup, layer your product on top of another gently instead of just dumping it on top of the other. Go in gently until you find your desired result. Remember it is easy to fix a face with less powder than a face with too much powder.

I know what you are thinking, she taught us all this with a half face of makeup? Yes she did and we love her even more. I hope you learnt a thing or two because I did.

Love,

Ibukun
