Winners of Ghana Makeup Awards 2019

Last week, over 200 makeup enthusiasts and industry practitioners and celebrities including actresses, Zynnell Zuh and Selly Galley convened at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra for the esteemed Ghana Makeup Awards. The vibrant and colourful ceremony that sought to reward leading professional within the makeup industry was hosted by award-winning broadcaster, Anita Erskine and graced by the Special Guest of Honour, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison, Minister for Gender, Children & Social Protection, Ministers of State and other Special Guests and dignitaries from public and private institutions such as the Office of the President, NEIP, YEA, COTVET, GSA, GIPC.

“The 3rd Ghana Makeup Awards was a journey over three months, crowned with an event befitting an industry as beautiful and colourful as ours. It is always a satisfying feeling to bring an edition of the Ghana Makeup Awards to a successful end. We promise to continue to be your partner in getting you to your greatest heights," shares Rebecca Donkor, CEO of Makeup Ghana the organisers of the Ghana Makeup Awards.

The award ceremony began after a red carpet and cocktail reception held in the lobby courtesy of Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra and Cardinal Liqueur. Other highlights from the evening include performances from Ghanaian artists Cina Soul and Kate Menson

Most Promising Makeup Artist (Bridal) : Regina Ama Dumah (reggies_makeovers)

Honorary awards were also given to exemplary individuals that have led the forefront of the burgeoning colour cosmetic and hair industry including Cecilia Adjei, a senior lecturer at the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana who was honoured with The Lifetime Achievement, Sandy Osei Agyeman, Founder/CEO, SLID Industries Limited and Dzigbordi Kwaku Dosoo, Founder/CEO of Allure Africa Group.

Winners from the award ceremony were chosen with a holistic approach with the following weighting :Judges - 50% Public Votes - 30%Awards Board - 20%
